“Will this record OTA TV broadcasts ? Or do I have to record from streaming signal only ? My end goal is to simply use HDTV antennas, but be able to record shows ( similar to the days of a VCR ). Prefer not to stream, long story...If not, other products ?”

No this will not record anything that you do not view thru it. WHat you need is an in-line recorder that has its own cloud or connects to your cloud. Or another option is to buy a video blue-ray/DVD recorder but then you are playing for the disks to record on.
