You will have a variety of options from apps- some free some you have to pay. They all have different terms of service.

There is no monthly cost to the device. The only monthly cost you would incur would be the cost of whatever streaming service subscription(s) you have. You can stream services like YouTube, YouTube TV, Hulu, PS Vue, Netflix, Sling TV, etc.

It doesn't come with channels. It's a streaming box; if you have a service like Sling TV, DirecTV Now, Hulu Live, etc, it will get whatever service you already have. As far as apps, it comes with a few already loaded like Netflix, Amazon Video, Vudo, Plex, etc. It has the Google Play Store, so any app that is optimized for Android TV will be there
