• you can us a Xbox one controller as your preferred choice. It is compatible and works well.

• No. There are IR sensors in the circles that are vital to the 3 dimensional movement and rotation of your hands in the virtual environment. The Vive will have its “Knuckles” controllers soon. The touch controllers are amazing though.
