“I have a LG 4k with an ARC HDMI port and also a Dish Hopper 3, I have tried to run an HDMI port from my receiver to TV (ARC) port which I get no sound. I have to use my internal speaker on my TV. What am I doing wrong? No pic unless I run ARC to hopper”

This is how it should be connected. Your dish hopper should have an HDMI cable connecting it directly to one of the inputs on the receiver. Preferably the input labeled “CBL/SAT.” Now connect the television to the HDMI output on the receiver. Although I suspect you wired your hopper right to the TV and are using your AV receiver in a configuration more similar to that of sound bar. Which, don’t get me wrong, will work just fine as well. If that’s how you have it connected and you aren’t getting any audio to the receiver, then it’s probably because you need to go into the television setup and change the audio output to the peripheral device perhaps. Although with the ARC it doesn’t usually require you to do that I don’t think. Anyways if that doesn’t work, just connect everything like I mentioned up above in the first paragraph and it should work perfectly.
