“I am replacing my Onkyo HT-R410 receiver with a TX-NR656. My old receiver would detect what the best mode was for what I was watching and change it to the best available mode, eg, Dolby Digital to ProLogic II and back. Will the TX-NR565 do that?”

• Yes,you have a few options namely auto mode or manual mode.The receiver is a steal for the price BB has now.

• Yes, this receiver does automatically detect the best sound mode. If I am watching something on my Amazon 4K TV it’s Dolby Prologic Surround but when I watch a 4K movie on my player it switches to DTS by itself. There are many different settings.
