Yes. It plays CDR's and it also plays MP3 CD's - if you have audio files in MP3 format, you can drop dozens of them onto a cdr and this player will play them too, so if you plan a party, you can burn a number of tracks as mp3's onto one disc, and it will play it literally for hours. It's a great CD player.
