Capable upgrade player for your CD collection

Upgraded to replace a 20 year old Sony 5 disc carousel. If you still have an extensive CD collection this is a good choice. A nice feature is you can change discs without stopping the music. Tray opening, closing, rotating is fast. Front display has basic functions of song length, count up or down. Randon function takes 12 seconds to scan the discs which seems a little long. I guess 2 seconds per disc is reasonable. The remote control is basic. You must have visual sight of the player for it to work. Don't close the cabinet. There are not many options for multi disc CD players now. I am pairing this with a Sony ES receiver and a Bose Acoustimass speaker system. I am pleased with the function and sound. RCA jacks and a coaxial connection only. HDMI or optical would have been nice. This is probably the end of the line for multi disc CD players. End of an era

    One sweet multi-disc changer!

Was shopping for a CD player for a little while now, old one bit the dust! 80's! LOL. Happened to come across this one on the Best Buy Web site. It was only about $40 more than the one I was considering, it was a single disk player. This one appealed to me because it is a 6 disc player/changer. I've had it for a couple of weeks now. The quality is nice and I love that is holds 6 CDs and you can shuffle play between all discs. My only concern is, how will the player hold up over the years with the shuffle play? The entire CD platter rotates around to shuffle the discs. Onkyo has been around for a long time, so only time will tell. I haven't really read all the instructions yet,, so I am still learning about this player. One thing I don't like or haven't figured out.... is when you shut it down, in the middle of a disc playing and you fire the player up again... it doesn't start at the song where you left off. It does remember the disc you were last on. That's pretty cool! So far I really like the player. Thank you Onkyo and BestBuy!!!

Great sound quality CD player/ changer.

Most manufacturers do not put a lot of effort into designing cd changers like they do in single disk players due to audiophiles prefer single disk players, but when it comes to cd changers you would be hard pressed to find a better cd changer at this price point for sound quality. When I was shopping around for a CD player, I narrowed down to the Onkyo and the Integra. (Onkyos high end line.) When comparing the 2 models, I couldn’t find a big difference between the two to justify The additional $120 price difference. Overall I’m very pleased with the sound quality of the Onkyo 6 disk changer. It’s not like my Marantz 6006, but the Onkyo sounds pleasing to my ears. The only reason I didn’t give the player 5 stars is due to the god awful green light. A soft blue or white light would have been a better choice. Maybe even a soft green would have been fine, but the bright green light has to go.....
