“Has Onkyo solved the problem that plagued earlier models? I own an SR707 that will not recognize the speakers. To expensive to fix and missed the extended warranty.”

I'm not sure what problems you're speaking of, but the last reciever I had lost all audio output. When I researched that particular model, I found it was a common issue for the audio chip to have cold solder joints. Was gonna cost more to repair than it was worth. However, that issue was resolved in subsequent models. So far, with this particular model in question, I haven't had any issues yet and it immediately recognized the impedance of the Onkyo speakers I already had.
