Bought this receiver on an early black friday sale for $270 including tax. Setup was simple. Sound quality is amazing, great features, Onkyo app works great, plenty of power for my Klipsch RP280F's and RP450C, I plan on purchasing more speakers in the future for a 5.1 system. I am very pleased with this receiver. I hadn't planned on running HDMI'S thru this receiver but I may end up doing it for the best sound quality when watching movies. I recommend Onkyo receivers and Klipsch Reference Premiere speakers.

I've recently been shopping for a receiver to power some speakers as well as Dolby Atmos enabled speakers that I recently bought. I was considering buying a used receiver, nothing fancy. Just something to make the sound come out essentially. But I have to say, buying this product was the best impulse buy I could have made. Not only does it flawlessly perform but also powers all my speakers that Ihave. I've connected my record player, Xbox, Tv and even Bluetooth music through my phone on this puppy! I have not yet utilized the second room feature, but if you wanted to add two more speakers (I'm assuming wireless would be the best bet) you can operate two channels at a time. That was pretty impressive to me. The dude at Best Buy probably thought he was an excellent salesman, and not to discredit him...he was good. Maybe one of the best. (Thank you Chodie Foster!) But my impulsive hunger had already decided. In my head I was like, "bruh I already ordered the 5 course meal....whether or not you tell me the ingredients in it is completely irrelevant... I'm still gonna eat it".
Awesome product, very smooth setup with speaker calibration. I'm a huge fan.

I purchased this receiver to replace an old Sony that I use to have. I can really see the difference in Quality and Sound and I have to tell you that there is a very big difference. This receiver has lots of hdmi ports, wifi, and everything else that you can wish to play around with.

I bought this system for myself a year ago at Christmas. I love music of all genres & wanted a quality system. I bought this Onkyo & paired with Klipsch speakers & subwoofer. Super happy with what the stereo can push.
My parents upgraded to the same tuner to bring their 35 yr old system up to date.
The user manual may not be the moat user friendly but once you set the tuner up with the wifi connection, you can see the menu on your tv.

from the holiday sale it was worth the update since my 5yo pioneer went out. I do notice better input performance from my pioneer playing on x1x and ps4. Still working on the sound as it's been lower then the pioneer was. Fantastic Beast is great for sound testing for movies.
One issue I have is the display can't be dimmed. my entertainment rack is under the tv so it's been a tad annoying seeing the bright display. Kind of interesting to not have such a simple feature on what was a $500 item. Other would be the simple remote you get.
For the price, I'm happy.

based on the specs at bb.com I thought this was able to upscale to 4k. nope. found out the hard way and saw on the onkyo site that it doesn't. brining this back and going with the pioneer lsx102(for $299 after I pricematch newegg, which only has 4 hdmi ports which is fine with me. if I ever need another hdmi port I can just get a switch. 4 is all I need, Blu-ray,cable,xbox1x and ps4pro. the two pics show the onkyo and pioneer.

Onkyo is not something new for me ... I stick to them like a 20 years ago and really enjoy clean, original sound without any loudness or other graphic correction.
Pros : all functions works, specs you can find in product description so let me focus on my opinion :
1. Power - yup - great power - it push my Polkaudio to the limit !
2. Lot of inputs
3. Bluetooth
4. Simply remote
Like every unit - needs some setup
Cons :
1. Menu - jeezzzz who made it ?
2. Biggest issue I have with it is ARC
Problem is : once it works great so I can enjoy music directly from my TV - f.ex. Youtube or Netflix
BUT
20 min later if you want to switch to ARC again - you get nothing !
Yes - remote works, sound level adjusts accordingly on TV's osd and onkyo but you can hear silent.
When I unplug TV and Onkyo from power for 10 secs ... and reboot - all backs to normal ...
I tried to find the problem ... tried any way ... nothing ...
If it would be a cable issue - I would have no sound all the time .
No clue ...
IMHO it is really great unit to connect all your 4K devices into one.
Dont expect anything above that - this is dedicated to sound so it wont upscale your content - your TV should do that

I bought this to replace an old all-in-one surround receiver but I kept my old speakers. It all sounds good in my 5.1 setup, but I ended up having to get a Subwoofer amp too because my old amp had a powered sub output and this one does not.
Setup was mostly easy, including the network apps like Pandora, but there were a few things that weren't obvious, like needing to pick the output mode to get Dolby Surround driving the rear, and some deep menus to get control through HDMI.
My only quibbles are that it seems very sensitive to input sound source - during commercials I often hear relays clicking due to the different sound encoding. Not a huge deal but maybe a worry for long term reliability. I also find that the built-in Chromecast does not work well for any non-Google apps - it just hangs. I can stream to a full Chromecast plugged into an HDMI input with no trouble from any app.
But with all the inputs and outputs, network and Bluetooth, this amp was a steal for the price! The newer version is twice as much - get it before it's gone!

Everything I Needed

I bought this receiver to replace a 12 year old Onkyo receiver that just gave up the ghost. It is amazingly feature rich. Of course I am comparing it to an old model, but I am loving the html inputs, the bluetooth and wifi connectivity. I paired it with my Amazon echo and now any content I want to play through the Echo, it connects automatically and does a great job. It responds to my Apple TV remote perfectly and I was able to reprogram my old Harmony remote to run most of the features. The Onkyo remote is simple and there is an iOS app that does everything too. There is enough power to run my 7.1 surround system, which also sounds great. The price was great; I would have spent more, but this receiver amp fit my needs perfectly.

This is my third Onkyo home theater receiver. The first one, a friend is still using, the second in on my sun porch and this one is setup in my theater room. And as my other ones did, this does not disappoint. Easy to setup, has enough inputs and outputs that should satisfy almost anybody setting up a home theater, has Airplay built in so I can connect directly with my iPhone, and most of all, sounds fantastic! It's almost too powerful for my theater room, but I'd rather have some in reserve than not have enough to begin with. I'm currently only using it in a 5.1 setup but I may go up to a full 7.2 at some point. Oh, also got it as an open box for $150 off and all accessories included. Highly recommended!

7.2 Ch.With an Attractive Price

Wanted a nice 7.2 Ch. surround sound system with builtin blue tooth and Wifi that wasn't going to break the bank.
I bought the system on cyber Monday for $249, excluding tax. Everyone else was selling it at ahigher price so I felt I got a good deal. The Onkyo surround sound receiver is easy to set up and comes with a mic for easy mounting on a camera tripod in calibrating the speaker locations. In addition, the onscreen menus helped in tweaking the system for optimal performance. I also liked the access to phone tech support to clarify any confusion about the hook up, and performance. Quick tip: In order to determine which speaker is which during the hookup, take a AA battery, and touch one wire lead to the Positive end, and one wire lead to the negative end of the batterey, and listen for the pop in the speaker to determine which wire goes to which speaker.

Bought this to replace another onkyo receiver that was on its last legs. Set up is super easy and has more features than needed really. The only thing missing is THX. Aside from that, it works great. The only issue I’m not happy with is after I updated it, it keeps asking to allow them to use your data to help make their products better. I haven’t found a way to keep it from happening every time I turn it on. Didn’t do that until I updated it. Went through the set up and said no to data transfer to them and it was good.
Aside from that, very easy to set up, the OSD menus are fantastic compared to their old ones, and I’m very pleased with how it sounds through my 5.1 set up.

This is the first high end receiver I've ever purchased and I did do a lot of research. For the sale price, I don't think I could have purchased a better receiver. I'm using it in a 5.1 configuration and it sounds great compared to the 10+ year on Sony I was using. It was easy to set up with a separate HDMI to each component using a single HDMI connected to the ARC HDMI on my LG 4K TV. The setup takes you through step by step and when I finished it sounded great with the highs high and the lows low. I couldn't be more happy with this purchase.

I have had several AV receivers over the years, from overpriced (but good) Pioneer Elite to Marantz. Trust me when I tell you that, for the money, it doesn't get much better than this Onkyo TX-NR676. Great rich, clear, accurate & LOUD sound comes from this bad boy. Setup was a simple breeze and the auto setup was so accurate, that I didn't even tweek it afterwards. The wi-fi, bluetooth, and front HDMI is an added convenience bonus. Trust me, I am picky with my sound and I am overly pleased with the performance of this reciever.

I have a perfectly good higher end receiver from Onkyo already that I was happy with EXCEPT all the cords and connections (no HDMI) This receiver couldnt be easier to hook up. HDMI cords in.. turn it on.. walk through the on TV screen setup and Bam.. we were watching a movie in great surround sound in no time. The only complaint with this is that I feel like I have to turn it up to 60 to have it at a good movie experience type of sound. But while 0 - 60 may be as slow as Prius driven by an old lady .. from 60 - 100 this thing will blow you away! Oh Yeah.. cant get the zone 2 to work the way I think it should but that could be my error.

I bought this on a Black Friday week deal and I honestly can't believe what all this receiver can do for the price. It's packed with tons of inputs, auto calibration, Bluetooth, Chromecast, Pandora, TuneIn Radio, dual zone and 7 channel/Dolby Atmos. But none of that matters if it doesn't sound great. Rest assured it sounds fantastic. It especially sounds great with movies, but also sounds good with music. Plus the dual zone setup is perfect for power ing my deck speakers. It basically works like a completely separate amp complete with its own remote if you're using the Onkyo app.

I got this receiver for Christmas to replace my non-Bluetooth Sony in The Doghouse (my garage). The price was a fantastic $150 off and Onkyo has always been one of my favorite brands. The sound quality is phenomenal and it packs enough muscle to rock the block. I’m old-school and needed to figure out how to program in the speaker arrangement and equilize the sound to my taste (although it sounds good right out of the box) but I know how to read and I figured it out. The auto-balance feature (the balancing microphone that come with it) is new to me and made the room sound great no matter where I stand. I’m not even going to pretend I have even used half of the features but it's great to see the name of the sound being played on the display and having enough places to hook up all my new and older equipment with room to expand. And even with 8 ohm speakers, I haven’t had the nerve to turn the volume above 80 to see how loud it gets. Even at that concert-level volume, it’s still crisp sound. Get some good speakers that’ll handle the power. I went with Polk Audio ceiling speakers to augment my Realistic drivers (yes Realistic...I said I was old school....) and The Doghouse has never sounded better!

I unfortunately, exchanged the first one I bought because I thought it wasn't working right; I called Onkyo 3 times and the end result was they said it must not be working right, that the video was bleeding through one input to the next. So I returned it. Turns out there was nothing wrong with it, I just didn't understand the functioning of the remote and how it switched from one input to the next, and to the TV. You can't switch directly from one of the HDMI inputs to the TV channels, you have to change to the TV input (I use the TV antenna) using the TV input selections. The TV video signal isn't sent through the ARC HDMI cable, only the audio is. And the TV button on the remote isn't for your main TV, it's for a secondary TV plugged into the AV receiver, which I don't have. So after fooling around with the second unit, getting the same symptoms as the first time, I realized what was going on. Too bad the support people at ONKYO never figured out what I was explaining to them - it would have prevented an unnecessary exchange. I can't imagine I'm the first person to have a similar experience setting this up for the first time; they should be better prepared to help people with what I think is a common situation. After all that, it's a nice unit, what you would expect. No complaints there.

Onkyo Is The Best

I've been loyal to Onkyo my whole life, and this receiver delivers as well. This will be the second Onkyo receiver i have in my home, my first one is going on 11 years and still running strong. You cannot beat the reliability and dependibility of Onkyo. Bought this because I recently upgraded my TV and was bummed when I found out I could not pass HDMI through my old receiver because it did not support HDR, 4K, etc. Was fortunate enough to find this open box for an amazing price ($440) so I had to get it. Its VERY fast, decodes and switches audio on the fly. It also automatically displays on screen graphics when changing the volume, set up options, etc. That may seem like old news to some, but as I said my original receiver is 11 years old so this was great to me. The sound is great, the bass channels are very deep, even compared to my old one. Love it.

I consider this to be a very good entry level receiver . I use it mainly to listen to music. The USB input located in the back of the unit could be a cost cutting measure. The Bluetooth works well with an ipod touch. I especially like the all channel feature, where the sound is equal in all speakers. I am satisfied with the sound quality and if used in an average size room, the power is adequate.
