“I have a Onkyo TX-NR676 hooked up to a Panasonic TC-P65ST30 TV with HDMI. When I turn on the TV the receiver turns on normally but it defaults to "TV Speaker" on the display and no sound (TV is muted). How do I disable "TV speaker" setting?”

Not sure, but here is what google said: enable hotel mode by pressing, at the same time, the down volume button on the side of your tv and the 'tv' button on the remote 3 times.
