This device usually connects to the network router and then to the phone system through the wired telephone line that may already exist in the home. In my case I have a T-Mobile 5G gateway and the Ooma Telo connects through the network cable port on the gateway. The other way is to connect the internet modem to a network router and then connect the Ooma Telo directly to the network router on the input side and the wired phone line on the output side. Directions are included with the device or you can contact Ooma support for help in installing and setting up the device.
