The faux coin door is just for looks. But, I'm sure you could use a Dremel tool to route out the coin slot, and put a bucket behind the door, so you could use it as a "piggy bank". Some owners have modified their faux coin doors to light up the coin return buttons for a more realistic look. You might be able to make a modification that connects the coin slot to the player buttons, so that when a coin passes through the slot, it trips the player button, and starts a game. But, that's a lot of work to do. Other people have cut out the red, plastic coin return button, and installed real buttons of that type, and connected those to the player buttons. All of that modding should be done, prior to completion of cabinet assembly, but the warranty will be voided. LOL
