“The description says “Steering Wheel Control Interface” but I’ve seen people saying it doesn’t retain steering wheel controls. So for my 2011 Wrangler will it keep the steering wheel volume control or not?”

I have a 2012 Grand Cherokee and it held all of the steering wheel controls. The only thing is for me on the left side of wheel my middle button would cycle thru favorites in order. But with this it cycles randomly thru my favorites. But everything else’s works. I did have Best Buy install it.

The only thing this unit doesn't do, that the more expensive iDatalink does, is connect to your OBDII to display your vehicle info on the stereo (if compatible).
