• Some vehicles with factory radios require it even if they do not have steering wheel controls. It is the easiest way to connect factory harness to aftermarket radios or you would have to cut, splice and connect wires without harness connectors and it might not even work. My son's 2014 Jeep Patriot required it to install a Pioneer stereo I bought for him.
