No, you can not set up this phone to receive faxes on an external fax machine.

This can vary among manufacturers, but most fax machines have two phone jacks in the back; one for the line to the wall jack, and the other to the phone. When the phone rings, the fax machine picks up first and listens to the line. If it hears a fax signal, it will cut off the line to the phone and receive the fax. It there is no signal, then it will allow the phone to pick up the call.
