QuestionDoes this unit have call blocking capabilities and if so how many numbers can be blocked. Also, can the blocked calls be silenced to no rings rather than one ring?

- Answer The unit is super easy to block calls. There is a dedicated button marked "Call Block" and all you do is push that button." It does do the 'one ring' and that can be silenced according to Page 27 of the manual. Also says 150 numbers can be blocked. . This new unit replaces the previous Panasonic system I had for 8 years. It is new and improved. Hope this helps.

- Answer Ours came with only 4, but you can purchase up to 2 more handsets to add to the system.

QuestionDoes this phone come with the rechargeable batteries? I see Best Buy selling the batteries as a bundle and don't want to pay extra for batteries if they come with the phone.

- Answer I've been trying to set up a KX-TGD56 for my aunt, to go cell phone only. This saves at least $30/month with MetroPCS instead of AT&T "landline". The bummer is, it seems the Panasonic's answering machine only works with a land line. It cannot be programmed to answer the cell call and take a message after X rings. The aging auntie is not gonna be able to dig through the android screens to get messages - and you can't screen calls in real time either. Seems like other vendors also fail to support this behavior. I am quite disappointed.

QuestionDo you need a land line (I use COX Communications for my landline) to operated the system. I am looking to connect two cell phones with different numbers to this system and eliminate the landline from COX.

- Answer I use a landline with mine, but no, you don't have to have a landline. You can use this system exclusively with your cell phone. I haven't tried pairing it with two cell phones.

- Answer Only the base needs to be hooked to a phone jack. The remaining phones come with a charging station that just needs to be plugged into power to charge them.

- Answer yes it has talking caller ID, that was the main feature we were looking for. I believe it specifically said it on the box. I noticed it as I was looking at the various models in the store....after searching on-line first. We were going to buy the 3 handset first (it also had talking caller ID), but the 4 handset was on sale. So now a phone is in the basement!

- Answer I ordered this phone thinking metallic blue was the only color it came in because that's all that the description said. But when it came it is black which I was glad.

- Answer No. But you can adjust the volume of the ringer on the base and for each unit to the point you can mute it. Settings-Ring Adjustments-Ringer Volume. Then you can choose handset or base.

- Answer Delete it from blue tooth from cellphone and house phone and restart. This is my second set of home phones with blue tooth you have to do this occasionaly.

- Answer Dear customer, thank you for your question. On this unit you can block up to 150 numbers. But our KXTG985SK can manage up to 1000 numbers!
