I bought an extra two handsets which came in one box for $35.00 extra. The model number for that is KX-TGC352. One of the phones in the box had to be plugged in even though there was a main base for my other 4 phones that was also plugged in.

One of the handsets in the 2 phone package is actually a base unit that works with the first 4 phones even though there is a base unit for the 4 phone package as well. All phones and bases need to be plugged in to an electrical outlet.
