Thanks Panasonic Answers. That's exactly what happens. I leave it on home because it's too much trouble to keep pairing to each system. That means the second one at the away from home location can't be used. It's a pity but I guess as you say it's the Bluetooth technology. If the pairing was easier it would be better. It keeps asking to pair with a passkey code which I accept then a few minutes later it asks again and again. Now I just kept ignoring it away from home and now I have unplugged the Panasonic. Is there something I am doing wrong when that passkey code comes? The manual just says to "follow the directions to proceed" but that doesn't seem to work.

Kindly be informed that this is not issue with the unit, however it is how the Bluetooth technology works in the telephone system. If you choose to stay connected to your home phone, for example, you will reconnect automatically once you are near the unit again, as long as you didn't pair with the other telephone system in the meantime.
