Yes. You need to subscribe to Caller ID, which is often bundled as a package of enhanced services (i.e. Call Waiting , Three-way Calling, etc.) from your local landline telephone company - AT&T, Verizon, etc. If you get your landline phone service from your local cable company (i.e. Comcast/Xfinity), those enhanced services are usually part of one's residential phone service plan. If you do not subscribe to Caller ID, no information will be displayed on either your telephone base or handset. Contact your local landline carrier for the most up-to-date information about availability and pricing.
