It does need the Phillips hue bridge to access all the fun features.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You’re going to need the Hue Bridge in order to use it with the Apple Home app. Same with Smartthings. Not sure about the Amazon Echo or Google Home, but I suspect it’s the same.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You need a bridge for any Hue light. Hue lights integrate with HomeKit which is how I control everything. You can also use the Hue app, I just prefer HomeKit because I have more than just lights. Their website says you can use up to 50 lights per bridge but I’m sure you could squeeze more than that in. I’d say get some type of starter kit with a bridge and you can add this light too. My wife and I are big fans or the Hue color and Hue ambiance lights. Hope that helps.
