Yes if you have a Philips hub / bridge put a Phillips Hue light bulb in a lamp or any light bulb socket and if the power is on you can control it with google home. I would advise you to stick with HUE Bulbs because the HUE system seems to have some compatibility issues. I have picked up two HUE Tap switches that allow me to turn the bulbs on and off with the push of a button as well. This way you never have to touch the light or lamp again. Just keep it powered on and control iit from the GH speaker or Tap switch. Check it out. This is a neat product. I do advise you not to stray from HUE devices unless you can get confirmation that HUE supports them. I have two GE wall switches and they are not supported. I am communicating with GOOGLE HOME now on how to add the SAMSUNG Smart Thing hub to Google Home and co-exist with the HUE Hub to control other devices like the GE wall switches. Have Fun.
