• Yes you do. they control over 50 lights on one controller. it also reaches my bedroom on another floor. the controller needs to be direct wired with ethernet cable. it does not have wifi. AL

• Hi, yes you will need a Hue hub for controlling the light. If you don't have one it defaults to basic single color mode only, like a regular light.
