A: There are metal plates/wings that stick out from the body at an angle. They create pressure against the inside wall of the can light fixture to stay in place. These have a strong hold that is much strong than other non-spring retrofit light kits I have used. Others have started to sag over time, but these hold their place well, so far.
Q: Are these wet rated? Would it be acceptable in a Hi-hat casing that illuminates my shower?

A: No, if you exceed the number of lights more than 10 you will need the bridge ... I have 4 and all are working with my phone app no bridge required

A: Yes. They will fit. Fit mine, will fit yours.
A: No. The Hue lamps are region-specific, including power line voltage and frequency, The Signify/Philips Lighting answer to this question for every Hue lamp is the same every time it’s asked. The question implies using the lamp outside of North America. It’s not simply a matter of power line voltage and frequency. The permitted uses of radio frequencies are different regionally. A device that can transmit on a frequency prohibited in a region won’t be allowed to be sold there. The ZigBee radio network has (many) channels for avoiding WiFi congestion that are region specific.
A: E356248 is a UL file number, not a specific Verbatim model number produced under that file. On a pragmatic level, none of the verbatim models under that UL file is a fixture itself, they are all retrofit inserts meant to be installed in an existing downlight can that’s wired into the building. If the verbatim housing was installed properly, the answer would be, remove the verbatim adapter, unscrew it from the lamp holder, install the Hue retrofit as supplied. If the verbatim retrofit adapter was installed as if it’s a fixture, the proper answer is to shut off the circuit breaker, inspect the building for other unsafe wiring, and install a lighting fixture and correct any other wiring defects before restoring the deficient circuit(s) to service. The answer to the question as written depends on the hue device fitting inside the trim ring of the verbatim retrofit and if it does if that connector is a simple 120v connection. If your installation uses the 0-10v dimming interface for the existing lamp it’s unlikely. It also depends on whether or not the “field replaceable led array” in the verbatim fixture is a “safety critical component” that can only be replaced with a part that provided some specific safety feature. The verbatim label on the outside of the fixtures will read in part “For use only with products described and installed in accordance with the instructions provided with this retrofit kit. Made in China.” For Model 99339 it also says 100-277v 50/60Hz 0.4A 0-10v 40W 4000K A266SF … that model fits industrial 8” downlights, has a 3400 lumen lamp module, and a 0-10v dimmer interface. A 700 lumen lamp would be 1/5th as much light, probably not a satisfying choice.
Q: Do i need a Hue hub for these reassessed light to work?
A: Yes you do. they control over 50 lights on one controller. it also reaches my bedroom on another floor. the controller needs to be direct wired with ethernet cable. it does not have wifi. AL
