• Yes you absolutely can. 3rd party vendors sell all kinds of connectors to do what you suggested. Search amazon for hue connectors ... enjoy...

• No they would not. An associate at Best Buy told us they would as long as the other part is close they would still work, so we cut a piece to put somewhere else but it did not work. We spent all of that money and was only able to use the little piece that we cut. So disappointed.
