I had the same issue so I used a power line adapter from the router to the plug and then used another where the Hue bridge was connecting the Hue bridge to the 2nd power line adapter and it works fine.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.First question, do you have a Hue bridge? If you do, all you do is plug the light strip into power and your hue app will discover it just like all other hue lights. If not, you have to have a hue bridge. The hue bridge can be placed right next to your router.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You need to connect a Hue bridge to your router , then that will connect and control up to 50 Hue devices wirelessly. The light strip will need to be plugged in to an any outlet for power whereas the light bulbs are powered by the socket.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You do not need to connect it to your home router. Just plug it into a wall outlet and add the light to your hue app. I could be mistaken, but I don't think you are able to connect these via wire to your home router.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You have to purchase the hue light bridge.. and that connects to your router...then you can control the light strip remotely
