Yes. I have a number of these in my home for various rooms and situations. One of them I is located in my basement stairway. It turns on multiple lights in (Hue) lights in the the basement when I open the door and begin to walk down the stairs. The Sensor (Accessory). Can be set for various lengths of time to allow sufficient time.

Please try again later.If you are talking about the portable lamp then no I wouldn’t recommend putting it on any stairs, cause that can and will cause an injury if anyone fell down the stairs but if you are holding the light then yes by far the best lighting source I’ve used. I’d recommend any Philips Hue products
