Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.if your laptop or cell phone gets wifi reception where you will put the motion senor I would imagine the sensor would work as well. I dont think this needs that strong of a connection.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You need to have it in range of the hue bridge running a zigbee based (not 802.11/12 wi-if) Network. So needs to be within range of the bridge. Range is similar to a modern wireless router from my experience.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This should work if it is within range of the bridge. The hue setup uses a different signal the wifi. If you are able to connect to the light it should have similar range.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not really, it works fine far away from my router.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the hue base on the complete other end of the house, about 50 ft apart, and connection is fine. My base is the back of the house, and I have 3 motion sensors, and 12 bulbs throughout the house, all connect just fine.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I believe each device creates a bit of a mesh network for themselves, allowing each weaker device to pick up the signal from the closest one to it. If you have a fairly decent signal you’ll probably be fine. I have an extensive network of Hue devices both inside and outside and have run as low as 70mbps without any issues.
