The white only bulbs do not let you set them to "Day Light" bright but the other color ones do let you go bright light like that. the white A19 do have more of a yellow brightness.

Yes, this color ambience and the philips white ambiance (non-color) bulb can do various white colors. The regular white (non-ambiance) bulbs only come in warm and are dimmable. In the attached picture the left is this bulb and the right is the pain white bulb that I'm guessing you got.

Color ambience
White ambience
White
