Yes, the PS4 Pro is just better hardware. You can still play the same games with friends on both consoles, however you may have an advantage due to the better hardware in some games because your performance will be better.

YES. The PRO is basicly hardly a PS4.5 it just has more power all the regular PS4 games work on it and it uses the same system and same PlayStation online. It basicly PS4 with new more powerful parts inside to put it a easy way. It's not a new system yet it competes with the XBOX 1S. On the other hand the XBOX SCORIPO will be a new system completely as will the PS5 and those 2 systems will compete against each other.
