Q: QuestionWhat is the difference in performance in 4gb and 8gb memory on laptops?
Asked by John.
- A:Answer If you have a 64 bit operating system and your motherboard supports 8 gigs it effectively doubles your memory available. This means the programs that you use on your computer will be more snappy and games like mine craft and other memory intensive programs like development suites and video picture editing may function smoother.

Q: QuestionCompatibilityI just want to know the difference between DDR3 and DDR3 SDRAM. I would like to put this in my wife's Macbook Pro. It's a late 2011 model which currently has 4 GB of 1333 MHz DDR3 SDRAM (PC3-10600) installed in pairs (two 2 GB modules). If I remember right, I wont be able to mix this card and one of the old cards as they will only operate at the 1333MHz speed so it will be running solo, since it is a x64 system I may buy two for it anyways though. It has been many years since I have actually upgraded the ram so I don't remember all of the things I should.

- A:Answer PNY Ram doesn't work in Apple Products, all you need to do is research what ram will work in your Mac and get one of those. The list isn't long compared to PC's. Agent Hartley Geek Squad

Q: QuestionIs this compatible with a MacBook Pro? and do i need to upgrade the bit if am upgrading the memory?
Asked by loumc0.
- A:Answer Easiest way to find an accurate answer to this is by contacting an Apple Authorized Service Provider. Most third party hardware is unsupported by Macs, and could cause startup issues, login issues, or worse. Someone on here might tell you it worked for them, so it'll work for you. That is not always the case. Check with an AASP (like a tech from Geek squad might know), to get an accurate answer.
