Easiest way to find an accurate answer to this is by contacting an Apple Authorized Service Provider. Most third party hardware is unsupported by Macs, and could cause startup issues, login issues, or worse. Someone on here might tell you it worked for them, so it'll work for you. That is not always the case. Check with an AASP (like a tech from Geek squad might know), to get an accurate answer.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hello, Compatibility all depends on the make/model/year of your MacBook Pro. You need to check with Apple for exact specifications to determine what you need to purchase (and what size) prior to making a purchase to ensure you have purchased the correct memory modules. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is a loaded question, and you won't find a definite answer here without more information about your portable. Some Macs might be compatible with some RAM as others are not. When it comes to installing third party hardware in any Mac, most of it will not work, and will cause startup, and crashing issues. Also, third party hardware will void your warranty. If you do install the RAM successfully, it does not cause any noticible issues, make sure it's even being recognized by your Mac. Apple menu > About this Mac > system report. You will see the same, or more Memory than you had before. Talk to a technician who is certified to repair Macs (not a keyosk in the mall), and you will find your answer.
