• Yes you can. The connections should be the same if it is the same form factor and is a HDD.

• Yes, SATA drive is all the same for 2.5" and 3.5" hard drives. The connection is standard for all sata drives, unless is micro sata or .....

• Yes connectors are the same. If its a laptop it should be just a matter of swapping out. Desktop might require a hard drive adapter because of the size difference. But yes connectors for SATA should be the same for desktop or laptop.
