I had an old beater Toshiba sound bar that only half of it worked. Bought this one today. Plugged it all in with HDMI and Optical. There appears to be ZERO bass at all. Sub says it's connected. Bass buttons on remote have no effect at all. null

I have no sound bar experience other than the one I recently purchased. It seems to work well, and the bass level is adjustable on the remote. 

Perhaps you got a bad unit that needs replacing.

After you turn on the sound bar, hold the bar sync button on back of sub-woofer for at least three seconds at the same time hold the bluetooth and volume+ on the soundbar for 5 seconds. The lights will flash while they make connection, then they will stop flashing when they connect. If it fails, the first and second lights will flash for 5 seconds. Retry procedure again if it fails.

To the best of my knowledge this has to be connected by either hdmi or optical. No Bluetooth option.
