Yes, but like with any epplical you have to keep grip on the inner handles where the silver bars. It looks exactly like the ones that are at Plant Fitness.

Yes, if you place your hands on the handle with the heart rate reader, it will display your heart rate after a few seconds. It is also capable of connecting to certain heart rate monitors by bluetooth.
