It definitely protects the screen; beyond Apple’s own hearty glass composition. Since I hardly ever tried using my watch without the add protection to the value I already spent to have such a watch, I can only tell of my experience with using the TS (touch screen) - it works well enough not to decide to tear the case off and hope nothing damages my unprotected watch. I’m very happy with my purchase of the Raptic 360x 45mm ’iWatch Series 7’ cover!
