• The 53mm size is the large size, so best for men with wider faces. 50mm is the standard size and best for women and men with faces on the more narrow side.

• Both 50 and 53 are considered Adult medium. It's just personal preference for those 2 sizes. Approximate sizes usually follow: 40-46mm: XS (X-Small – Junior sizes) 47-48mm: Adult Small 49-53mm: Adult Small – Adult Medium 54-61mm: Adult Large 62mm+: Adult X-Large Most glasses are unisex, so it depends on whether you are a small/large - man/woman

• According to Rayban, 53 is a large and from my experience, too big for an average person’s or woman’s face. At least, mine. Which is why they are now up on Poshmark.
