Any computer will get hot when it is performing intense processing. The main thing to keep in mind is to allow airflow to the cooling fans. Leaving it constantly on a flat table or bed is not ideal. This unit has two really big cooling fans that pull the hot air away from components under the bottom of the unit. Mounting it in such a way that will keep the vents clear is the best advice for you. There are third party options out there that allow you to safely angle the laptop so that airflow underneath is maximized.
