Some cars only allow wired connections to CarPlay from your phone.  This Rexing Adapter gives you wireless connection to CarPlay from your phone.

When I bought my new Kia, it had wired CarPlay (need to attach phone to a specific USB port to get CarPlay on the media/infotainment system). This device allows/permits the phone to connect via Bluetooth to (the adapter then) the car’s media/infotainment system.
