No, the cabin view camera can't be removed. but you can angle it to get a better view of the back seat. You'd have to mount the rear view camera in the cabin if you want a better view, in which case you'd lose the rear view; and yes, the M3 has a parking mode that will optionally record intermittently or upon vibration. To use that mode though, you need to install their wiring harness. You also need to wire it if you want the rear view camera to come on when backing up. Other than that, you can plug it into the "cigarette lighter" power connection for the simplest way to provide power, I can't tell you any more than that because wiring it is still on my to-do list.
