Q: Can this be installed on a 2009 Extended Cab Toyota Tacoma?
A: As far as physical installation goes, this fits over your regular rear view mirror with two elastic bands that hold it in place. That said, it should fit in any vehicle with a normal rear view mirror. The only caveat is that you may find that the weight of the camera causes the mirror to shift downward, especially when going over a bump. I resorted to using thin wire to hold it up at the right angle. Electrically, it plugs into a lighter socket, or you can spring for the hardwire kit, so there again, it should work with any vehicle.
A: No, the cabin view camera can't be removed. but you can angle it to get a better view of the back seat. You'd have to mount the rear view camera in the cabin if you want a better view, in which case you'd lose the rear view; and yes, the M3 has a parking mode that will optionally record intermittently or upon vibration. To use that mode though, you need to install their wiring harness. You also need to wire it if you want the rear view camera to come on when backing up. Other than that, you can plug it into the "cigarette lighter" power connection for the simplest way to provide power, I can't tell you any more than that because wiring it is still on my to-do list.

These should be standard on ALL VEHICLES!
Haven't had it very long, but so far it's pretty freakin' awesome! Crazy easy install with the supplied 12v plug, but got even better when I added the B0973MBCT8 Intelligent Hardwire Kit. Expanded capabilities, cleaner look, super easy to splice into fuse box. I bought it after watching way too many "dash cam" videos, and so far my peace of mind is 1000X better. Just go buy one, like now.

Overall Good Camera but bad customer service
When I installed the camera, the quality was very clear. The mirror camera was also easy to use. The package came fast. My only complaint is that the package came opened and used and also came with a pickup sticker that did not was not my name. Best Buy customer service gave me no resolution and they were rude. I ended up returning this camera for a new one at the store. But I would have kept it if it was new and not used.
