A: You are correct however every detector is useless for laser. The only effective countermeasure for laser is the ALP Laser jammer. Depending on your location laser maybe used more or less. Concluding a radar detector is only going to let you know your getting shot with laser and at that point it's too late. You have to get a laser jammer and ALP is the best.. check out Vortex radar on YouTube for great reviews.
Q: When are you getting more of the uniden r3
A: Here is a trick which worked great for me. Take the SKU number for the radar detector to your local Best Buy store and ask them to locate one and have it shipped to you. I did this, and 5 days later, the item arrived at my doorstep. The sales rep. at Best Buy explained to me that "out of stock" does not mean that they are totally out of stock of that item; rather it merely means that the particular warehouse which supplies the Best Buy website is out of stock of the item. The item is likely available at other warehouses, can be located by the store, and shipped to your home.
A: Yes, it does detect laser, but 99% of the time when you get a laser notification then they already have your speed. The only way to defend against that is to buy parking sensors like ALP. The detector that's known for having the most sensitive laser detection is the Valentine One, but even that will just be a ticket notifier if you were speeding.
A: No it has steath technology
A: This means you might have a low battery in the car, the detector can have “battery save mode” which is a way to turn off automatically to not drain the car battery. It also shows the voltage to let you know the what’s coming out your cig plug.
Q: Is the newer R3BLK truly matte black, as in all glossy exterior parts have been altered?
A: The new one is completely matt black. It has no shiny parts at all.
A: I assume you mean the R7 and if so, the R3 just has a slightly shorter range and doest give directional arrows to let you know where the signal is coming from like the R7 does basically.

Uniden R3
I am truly amazed how well the Uniden R3 performs. Prior to this I had an Escort Passport which also worked all. However, this was cheaper by almost $150 and the range is far more effective. Theyre both excellent devices but as I said Im shocked how this slaps. I get alerts way quicker and farther then before. The options are vast like several different display color options. There several other options but most radar have them i just feel the color option is a must have in addition to the screen dimming. Its like have a stealth mode at your leisure. Im currently in the market for another vehicle and im certain im gonna have a additinal device in that vehicle as well. Possibly the R4 if they just the price, but if they dont i have no problem picking up another for $300. I also compared this to the $800 redline and for under half the price of that this R3 can hang and even in some areas like range can out perform. I also picked up the direct power cord so i can be wired directly to my fusebox. I honestly love my setup and for the price point cant beat it. I recommend the Uniden R3 and glad I listened to my Brother Horace when he recommended the Uniden brand.

One of the best
It has one of the best ranges on the market. It has all the bells and whistles that you need with GPS and you mute the signals in your area that you want it to remember. I rarely ever get a false positive from other people’s car proximity sensors. Can’t recommend more. Has easily paid for itself. Blend mount and mirror tap for power sold separately but worth it.
