Hello If the dashcam is mounted through the hardwire kit, it will need a tiny bit of power in order to get the sensor ready. Please note that it should not be enough to drain your vehicle's battery. This typically hints at a problem with installation. Please look at one of our instructional videos on how to set up the hardwire kit. Alternatively, you can provide power to the dashcam by using the provided cigarette socket charger that came in the box.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There are two ways to install it for power… one is always on, even while parked. The other is to start and stop with the ignition
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you don't have it hard wired and just using the lighter outlet then it wont record when car is off. If you are worried about it just unplug it when car is not in use
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The camera will draw power from the battery if directly connected. It is a very small drain. I would recommend to replace the battery in the car. They are only good for about 3 years. Swing by Batteries Plus. they will test your battery for free.
