“Is the motion detector pet friendly? In other words, is it capable of telling the difference between a 10 -15 lb cat and a human? Or any motion period sets it off?”

Manual states pets under 30 lbs won't trigger motion. You can set the motion detectors sensitivity. One setting is people only.
