Mine is hooked up to my front porch light. Its electric so you dont have to charge it. Just leave your light switch on. It gives you instructions to program it to the wifi

Thanks for reaching out. The Ring Floodlight Cam Plus Wired must be installed on a 4“ round UL-listed weatherproof electrical box. Once it is installed and powered on, you can connect it to your home's wifi using the Ring app. Visit our support center for more information.
