You do not have to have a base station. I bought the extender just because our wifi wasn't strong enuogh.

No, workes with your smart phone or tablet. After setup can be used with Alexa.

No base station needed for cameras. All you need is your cell phone with the Ring app installed and you’re ready to go follow all Ring app instructions and you will see all your images on your phone.

No you do not. It connects through WIFI. If you have multiple Ring products you will need a Ring Bridge to view in a single app.
