Yes you can get the one that plugs in to an outlet that will record always or an outdoor one that uses a rechargeable battery that will only record when motion is detected

Yes! I bought the standup camera that plugs in to 120VAC, but there is also an option to get the one with rechargeable battery, I like mine because I can move them around to wherever I need to monitor.

Yes, I have one on my shelf looking out the window, it helps to have motion sensors on lights outside so camera catches activity.
