It runs 24/7, but you can set a time frame for it to be running. In setup, go to advanced setting> Motion Schedules.

Ring devices use motion detection technology that activates when movement is detected within a certain distance of your Ring device. Once motion is detected, you will receive a notification in your Ring app, and your device will start recording. If you don't want your Indoor Cam to record any motion, you can disable motion recording by using the Motion Record control in your Ring app: Open your Ring app. Tap the three lines on top left. Tap Devices. Tap the device you want to adjust. On the device screen, turn Record Motion off. The off position will be white. When the Motion Record function on your Ring device is turned on, it will make a note of any motion in its field of view and detail it in your device's History. Should you turn on your Motion Alerts control, it will also send you a notification each time it detects motion. Here is a helpful article that details the Motion Record toggle: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360022016591-Using-the-Motion-Record-Control-to-Disable-Recording.
