I would stay within 3 bars of wifi signal (strong signal). This means your wifi router ore repeater would have to be decently close to whatever portion of the yard this tree is around. This is a completely Wifi dependent device. You have to set your expectations around that. However, Best Buy has a return period based on your member level (Regular, Elite, Elite Plus) so you would get a minimum of 15 days to try it out I think.

That's too far away, unless you have a really powerful wifi router.
