Hi Curious. Thank you for reaching out to us with your question. The Ring Outdoor Cam can be placed on a flat surface for flexibility or mounted to a wall for a more permanent solution. We also have a Mount for Stick Up Cams (sold separately), which adds even more flexibility to your Ring Outdoor Cam. It allows you to mount your Stick Up Cam upside down on ceilings and eaves.
