• It does if you want to have access to videos that was recorded with your camera. You can do the live view without a subscription.

• Yes it does. The basic Ring subscription is $3.99 per month. This allows you to see past events. If you are only wanting to see what is going on at the present time, you can do that free….but no recording or past events
